How many of each are needed to make 50 lbs of a blend that costs $C

X+Y = 50

6.5X + 4Y = 50C

6.5X + 4 ( 50 - x) = 50C

6.5X + 200 - 4x = 50C

2.5x = 50C - 200

25x = 500c - 2000

x = 20c - 80

Use the formula x = 20C - 80 and then y = 50 - x where c is the cost that you did not provide.

Suppose it is $5.

then x = 20*5 - 80 = 100 - 80 = 20 ---> y = 30
