Heat is thermodynamic quantity and is a measure of the total energy of a system. Temperature is related to heat but is not the same. Temperature is a measure of the thermal energy. Heat is usually measured in joules, and temperature in degrees F, C, K, etc. It's also important to note that it is possible to have a change in heat, without a change in temperature. Such is the case for the latent heat of fusion, or vaporization for example.
