A trader bought 3 dozen eggs at 3.75 each and wishes to earn 60% profit  on selling them all but 1 dozen eggs break in storage .At what percentage must the trader sell each of the remaining eggs to earn the same profit amount

To get 60% profit of his deal

 

3*3.75 * 60% = 6.75

 

So he need to earn 6.75 from 2 dozens of eggs

 

cost of 2 dozen of eggs = 3.75 * 2 = 7.5

 

now 6.75 is what percent of 7.5?

6.75 /7.5  * 100 = 90%

 

so trader has to sell eggs at 90%
