Easter in theater contains 126seats arranged in rows.

Let x be the number of seats per row. The number of rows  Times the number of seats per row is equal to the total number of seats. Construct an equation for this situation using only the variable X

Lauren H.

126 could be 1 row of 126, 2 rows of 63, 3 rows of 42, 6 rows of 21, 7 rows of 18, 9 rows of 14, 14 rows of 9, 18 rows of 7, 21 rows of 6, 42 rows of 3, 63 rows of 2.

Therefore, you must know more than just the total number of seats.  Right now, you have xy = 126, x is number of seats per row, y is number of rows.
