A prime number is a whole number whose only factors are 1 and itself. If you were to try the process of elimination, you could choose random prime numbers and see when multiplied by each other, if the product is between 1000 and 1500.
For example, 13 is prime because the only way you can get it is to multiply 1 x 13. The next consecutive prime number would by 17. 13 x 17 = 221. Way too low.
Go in the 20's. 29 is prime. The next one is 31. 29 x 31 = 899. Getting closer!
31 x 37 = 1147. That would work!
