You can think of whole numbers as numbers greater than zero (but no decimals/fractions). Integers are the positive AND negative whole numbers.
A rational number is one that can be made by dividing 2 integers, like 1/2, 4/7, 2/3, 8/1.
That means that all integers are rational because we can always divide an integer by another integer (remember, no decimals for one integer)
BUT all rational numbers like 1/2 (which is equal to 0.5) is NOT an integer (no fractions, no decimals for integers!)

1/2 is a rational number, but it most certainly is not an integer number.
