Solving for 1 variable in terms of one or more other variables means solving a multiple variable equation for the equivalent expression.
For example.
In the equation
x + 2y = 10
If i solved for x in terms of y, I would isolate x on one side of the equals sign.
by adding -2y to both sides, we end up with
x = -2y + 10
Thus x in terms of y is -2y + 10
This phrase is used a lot on standardized tests ... SAT, ACT, etc.
