If f(x) = 3x + 10x and g(x) = 2x – 4, find (f – g)(x).

(f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = (3x + 10x) - (2x - 4)
                                           13x - 2x + 4 = 11x + 4
 
Should f(x) be (3x2 + 10x)?
 
Then (f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = 3x2 +10x -2x + 4 = 3x2 +8x + 4
