In a class of 60 where boys are twice that of girls, Ramya ranked 17th from the top. If there are 9 boys ahead of Ramya, how many girls are after her in the rank ?

Answer 1

2x+x = 60

3x = 60

x=20

 

20 girls, 40 boys

 

She is ranked 17th

9 boys ahead of her ---> 7 girls ahead of her

 

12 girls must rank after her
