As Paul said, in order for a collection of points (x,y) to be a function, we require that no x value has more than 1 corresponding y value.
However, if we changed the last point to create the follow set of points, {(-6,-3) (5,-4) (-3,-6) and (-6,5)}, this would no longer be a function because the x = -6 corresponding to both y = -3 (first point) and y = 5 from the last point. We want to plug in 1 x value, and get exactly one y value out.
