this question came on my math final exam, and i thought it made no sense, i answered 2 hours logically but i dont really think my answer is correct. Any help?

if mike gets $15 per hour plus $75 per week as a bonus. How much hours must he work per week so that his payment will be as if he was earning $30 per hour without his bonus?

Let x = the number of hours per week that Mike works:

 

15x + 75 = 30x

75 = 15x

5 = x

 

Check:

 

15·5 + 75 = 30·5

75 + 75 = 150

150 = 150
