alegerbra equation

can somebody please expand 6g + 2g (3g + 7)..... my revision guide states that it is equal to.... 6g + 2g x 3g + 2g x 7 but I thought that it would equal to 6g + 2g x 3g + 6g +2g x 7... if I am wrong can somebody please explain to me I wouldn’t put the additional 6g in and why the 2g is added twice. many thanks
