Josh is 243 miles always from jordan. They are traveling towards each other. If Jordan is travels 7 mph faster than josh and they meet after 9 hours how fast was each other traveling?

Well, together they travelled the entire distance.

 

Let r = Josh's speed.

 

9(r + r + 7) = 243

9(2r + 7) = 243

18r + 63 = 243

18r = 180

r = 10

 

10 + 7 = 17

 

Josh travelled 10mph and Jordan travelled 17 mph.
