sum of (a number divided by 2) and 7.  (n/2) + 7

the sum of a number divided by 2 and 7 equal 3.   (n/2) + 7 = 3

 

Solving for n

n/2 = 3-7 = -4

n = 2*-4

n = -8

 

Checking

(-8/2) + 7 = -4 + 7 = 3
