Some states do have their most populous city as their capital including Arizona, and Georgia. Most of them do not. After careful examination from multiple websites including worldpopulationreview.com, I can confidently say, less than twenty of the fifty states in the US have their largest city as their state capital. More often than not the capital city is usually just one of the state's ten most populous cities.
The same can be said about other nations and their capitals too. For instance Tokyo is Japan's capital and the most populous city, however while Washington D.C. is the United States' capital, New York City Is the largest American city in terms of population.
