The trick with conversion of units is to be sure the units are right, then almost certainly the numbers will be right.

 

277 cm * 1 inch/2.5 cm

 

See, the cm "cancel" and the inches are left

 

The answer then is 110.8

 

BTW, the usual conversion factor between inches and cm is 2.54!
