-7y = -2x + 10

y = (2/7)x - 10/7     This line has a slope of 2/7. Perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciprocals of each                                         other. So, the slope of the new line will be -7/2.

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 5 = (-7/2)(x + 2)

y - 5 = (-7/2)x - 7

y = (-7/2)x - 2       Multiply both sides by -2.

-2y = 7x + 4

7x + 2y = -4
