Incoming letters in the town office either go to 3 mail rooms for sorting, or are left unassigned. In August where 1,250 letters came in, 20% went to mail room A, 40% went to mail room B and 10% were left unassigned . The number of letters which went to mail room C on that day is 15% of the total number of letters that went to mail room C in the year.
How many letters went to mail room C that year?

0.3(1250) = 375 went to C in August.

 

15% of the total annual letters came in August.
