How do you know if you need to round up?

so When you divied the answer comes out to like 12.08333 why would you round up on that and if you did how would you get 65

There is no way to get 65 by rounding up 12.08333

 

If you want 12.08333 to 1 decimal place, you round up to 12.1, since 8 ≥ 5

 

To 2 decimal places, you round down to 12.08

 

To 3 decimal places, you round down to 12.083
