Nathan is making a new product to sell for company fundraisers. Each product costs Nathan $2.30 to make. If he sells the products for $3.75 each, how many will he have to sell to make a profit of exactly $29.00?

How much profit does Nathan make for just 1 product?  Sell Price - Cost To Make = Profit, so each his profit for 1 product is

 

3.75 - 2.30 = 1.45

 

Now all you need to find out is how many $1.45's will it take to make $29.00

 

 

To find out, divide 29.00 by 1.45, and that is the number of products he will need to sell.
