Graph and find the area of the figure with the vertices (-3, 0), (1, 4), (2, 0)

i need help i dont know how to graph it I  know how to find the answer after it is graphed. it might be the fact i have nothing to graph on though

I don't believe you.  You surely have been taught how to plot points. Once you mark these three points on a graph (using 'quadrille' paper, or equivalent), draw the 3 sides of the triangle.

 

You will be able to find the area by using the formula Area = ½•bh where base length and height can be easily found by examining your figure, as drawn and labeled.

use a piece of graph paper or make a coordinate system

start at the origin

(-3,0), 3 units left and put a dot

(1,4), 1 unit right and then 4 units up and put a dot

(2,0), 2 units right and put a dot

connect the dots

you have a triangle with a base of 5 units and a height of 4 units

A=(1/2)*b*h

A=(1/2)*5*4

A=(1/2)*20

A=10 square units is the area
