Hi Chanequa.
With adding and subtracting fractions, the "bottoms" must all be the same. In math-speak that would be, all of the fractions must have a common denominator.
Since both of your fractions have a "bottom" number of 12, you are all set. This denomiator will NOT CHANGE throughout the whole subtraction process.
Once you have a common denominator, now do what ever the numerator (top) is asking, in this case, SUBTRACT.
So
