Using algebra in geometric problems.

Question

One angle has 25 more degrees than another. The sum of the two angles is 125 degrees. How many degrees are in each angle?

Let x = the measure of the smaller angle

Let x + 25 = the measure of the larger angle

x + x + 25 = 125

2x = 100

x = 50º

X + 25 = 75º
