Unit rate of muffins

1. At a bakery, a baker prepares 6 dozen blueberry muffins for every 5 dozen apple muffins. If the baker prepares 16 dozen blueberry muffins, how many dozen apple muffins will he prepare?

This is a fairly simple proportion:  6 is to 5 as 16 is to x

 

6:5::16:x

 

6x = 5(16)

x = 5(16)/6

x = 13 1/3 dozens
