Great question. Suppose you are a researcher and want to identify a new drug for a viral pandemic. You know that a particular molecule has worked for previous viruses but you want to know if you can change one part of the molecule to interact with the novel virus. To do this, a computer simulated system will be employed. The system has a library of hundreds of different molecules interacting with proteins from hundreds of viruses. Using this, a researcher can use the system to model how each molecule will interact with the new virus. Once found, the research can begin synthesising the molecule in the lab for further experiments. This is one way you can used a system to solve a problem.
