Remember that distance traveled, say, d, equals the speed, say s, times the time taken, say t. (in formula, d = st)
You drove the car 500 miles, so d = 500. You maintained a constant speed of 65 mph, so s = 65. To find the time taken substitute in d = st as
500 = 65 t
t = 500/65 = 7.69 (to 2 decimals) hours, that is t 7 hours and about 60 x 0.69 = 54 minutes. (60 minutes in 1 hour)
