Hi Abby! you probably know that to average these scores, you need to add them together and divide by 3, since there are 3 scores.
But they are all out of different point values, ugh! So think of them as fractions you have to add up, but you need to find the common denominator before you can add.
write down the first few multiples of 40 (40, 80, etc.) then do the same for 20 (20, 40, etc.) and then for 30 (30, 60, etc.).
Soon you'll get to the Least Common Multiple of all 3, and you can use that as your common denominator to add up the fractions. Once you've done that, divide the total by 3, simplify the answer, and BOOM, there you are!
Pssst, you can also take the average of the numerators over the average of the denominators. COOL!
