How about we find the quotient instead of the product....
Also, you really MUST include grouping parenthesis..
1) (x2+17x+72)/(x2+18x+81)
= [(x+9)(x+8)]/[(x+9)(x+9)]
= (x+8)/(x+9)
2) (x2+9x)/(x2+5x-24)
= [x(x+9)]/[(x+8)(x-3)]
Nothing cancels on this since there are no terms the same
in numerator and denominator.
