As viewed from the north pole star Polaris, Earth turns counterclockwise.  This perspective is from above the North Pole.
 
"as viewed from the North Pole" is ambiguous.  A person standing on the North Pole would turn with the Earth (so would see no Earth rotation), but would see the stars move clockwise relative to the Earth.
