Wendy, assuming this is typed correctly, there is no answer. If we combine like terms, we get 0 = -3, which we know not to be true.

If you have stated the problem correctly, the answer would be: No solution!
The reason is that:
we have : 3x = 4-7+ 3x
so 3x= -3+3x (just add 4 and -7 which would be -3).
Now subtract 3x from both sides: 3x-3x = -3+3x- 3x
therefore: 0 = -3+0
or 0= -3 which is impossible, and so there is no solution! (there is no x value for which the equation could hold).
