Keep in mind that 10% of a number represents 10 pieces of the original number which means to find 10% just simply divide by 10. Since 10% of 50 is 5 (because 50 divided by 10 is 5), then your aim of missing 30% means since 10% is 5 questions, and 30% is 3 times as large as 10%, then 3 times 5 questions, is 15 questions. If you miss 15 questions on a test with 50 total questions, your score would be a 70%. An alternative method would be to divide the maximum percentage correct of 100 by the number of questions to determine your per question value. This method would yield that each question is worth 2 points each and since there are 30 points that are needed to be missed, then 15 wrong questions equate to 30 missed points which gives a score of a 70%.

going to miss 30%, deliberately! You can figure out what 30% of 50 is, I hope.
