The common difference is 1/16
an = an-1 + 1/16
1/16 + 1/16 = 2/16 = 1/8
1/8 + 1/16 = 2/16 + 1/16 = 3/16
3/16 + 1/16 = 4/16 = 1/4
1/4 + 1/16 = 4/16 + 1/16 = 5/16
