The best we can do is a linear function.

 

The tare weight of the empty barrel is 10 pounds where the number of gallons is zer0.

 

So  the ordered pair is (0,10)

 

At 10 gallons, the total weight is 176.8, so this ordered pair is (10,176.8)

 

The slope is (176.8 - 10)/ (10 - 0) =  166.8 / 10 = 16.68

 

Note that (0,10) is the y-intercept when x=0.

 

So the linear function is W(v) = 16.68*v + 10 where v is the # of gallons of water.
