A sllightly simpler way of doing exactly what Philip did is to think about what 7/10 means. It means seven tenths, right? So, a tenth of 60 minutes. Well, that's just 60/10, right? Or, in other words, just knock the 0 off the 60. You'll get 6, which is one tenth of an hour.
But we want SEVEN tenths, don't we? Well, that's just seven of those tenths, which we can say mathematically as 7 times 6. Wait a minute! We know the answer to that one! It's 42!
Does that help? It's the same thing Philip did, just worded slightly differently to match how my brain works a little bit better.
