=2x-9/x-5 - (x+5)(x-1)/(x-5)(x+5)

=2x-9/x-5 - x-1/x-5 

=2x-9-x-1/x-5 

=x-10/x-5

line 4 should be  =2x-9-x+1/x-5 because -(x-1)=-x+1

line 5 then would be x-8/x-5
