How do I get the answer? How do I simplify will I need to find the LCM? How do I do it?

observe all of the denominators (3 and 5)--this dictates that the LCD (least common denominator) is 15.

 

change 2/3 to 10/15 (multiplying it by 5/5)

change 3/5 to 9/15 (multiplying it by 3/3)

 

now add the numerators. thus you get19/15.  finally, you can convert it to one and four fifteenths, mixed number.
