g(x)=1/3x-9 find g(6)+g(a)

How find answer above written out, class is on line and hard to go back

As Phillip said,
"As written, the equation is: g(x)=(1/3)x-9"
 
There are probably some missing parenthesis to clarify the grouping.
Is it:  g(x) = (1/3)x - 9
         g(x) = 1/(3x) - 9
         g(x) = 1/(3x-9)
 
Which is it?
