Solving unknown variable

Hi I Need to know how to solve for an unknown variable. Rent expense is 103500 at year end, it increased by 10% 6 months prior. How do I calculate what the original amount was. I'm really bad at maths

r + 0.10r represents current rent

r + 0.10r = 103500

1.1r = 103500

r = 94090.09090909...
