Graph the similar line ( y = 4x -2), but leave it dashed (it would be solid if the sign were less than or equal to).
Use a test point (point not located on the line) to determine which side of the line should be shaded.
For example, I would use the point (0,0).
0 < 4*0 - 2
0 < 0 - 2
0 < -2
This statement is not correct, so (0,0) is not part of the solution. If a point is not part of the solution, then no point on that side of the line is part of the solution. Shade the opposite side of the line.
