A rectangle whose perimeter is 68 feet has a length that is 8 feet longer than its width. What is the area of the rectangle?

I don't know how to do this.

perimeter = 2(Length + Width)
 
68 = 2(L + w)
34 = L + w
 
L = w + 8
34 = w+8+w
34 = 2w + 8
26 = 2w
w = 13 feet
 
L = w + 8 = 21 feet
 
The rectangle is 21 by 13 feet
 
To find area just multiply length times width:  21(13) = _______ ft2
