asked 12/19/17possible combinations
i have a jar which must always be filled to 100%. i have 4 different items which can be placed into the jar to fill it. each item can be added in increments of 25%, and may be placed in the jar more than once. how many combinations are possible to fill the jar?
example:
* combination 1 = item a) 100%, item b) 0%, item c) 0%, item d) 0%
* combination 2 = item a) 75%, item b) 25%, item c) 0%, item d) 0%
* combination 3 = item a) 25%, item b) 25%, item c) 25%, item d) 25%
.....
* combination n = item a) 0%, item b) 0%, item c) 0%, item d) 100%
How do you solve for the number of combinations?
