Well, there are a few ways to do this, but I'll show you what jumps out at me.

 

2g = 3.5 - 2d

2g = 6 - 4d

 

Now, if 2g equals two different things, they equal each other!

 

3.5 - 2d = 6 - 4d

2d = 2.5

d = 1.25

 

2g = 6 - 4(1.25)

2g = 6 - 5

2g = 1

g = 0.5

 

A granola bar is 50 cents and a drink is $1.25.
