What is the area of a square park with a side of 1/4 miles

The question is in miles it asking what area is in mile which is 1/4 miles  I don't know the formula

It's always side squared. Worth remembering. BTW when a number between 0 and 1 is squared, the result is a smaller number than what you began with.
