we can solve these 2 equation simultaneously using elimination method

 

here we wiil add these 2 equation

 

2l +2w =110

l -2w =1

l=37

 

l-2w =1

37 -2w =1

36 =2w

w =18

 

so length =l =37inches

width =w = 18 inches
