Hi Tyler, the surface area is given by: S = π * d * l, where d is the diameter and l is the length. It is necessary to change all measurements into one unit.
Working with meters:
Calculating diameter of pipe in meters:
Convert centimeters to millimeters:
2.54 * 10 = 25.4 millimeters
Diameter of pipe in millimeters:
2 * 2.3 + 25.4 = 30 millimeters
Diameter of pipe in meters:
30 / 1000 = .03 meters
Surface area of pipe:
S = π * d * l
S = π * .03 * 32
S ≈ 3.02 meters squared
