Hi Sophia! There's a couple ways you can think about this. To solve it mathematically, find a common denominator for 5/9 and 5/12, convert your fractions, and then compare your numerators -- which is bigger?
Otherwise, think about it visually: if you have a pie, what's going to be bigger, 1/9 of the pie, or 1/12? Having five times as much (5/9 of the pie and 5/12 of the pie) won't change that answer because your proportions will be the same.
