Unfortunately, I can't do a graph on this website. However, to graph y = (1/2)x + 5/2 you would first plot the y-intercept, 5/2 or 2 1/2, on the y-axis. The slope of the line is 1/2. So, from the point (0, 2 1/2) go up one and right two and plot another point. Connect the two points and draw your line. Find the point where the line crosses the x-axis. x should equal -5.
