Hi Jensen from Beach, FL...hope you had a great day at school...
I'm going to provide you with some direction, as least some ideas on how to work toward addressing your assignment, but won't do it for you.
Here is an idea as to your request about an introduction as well as ideas to expand upon with developing your argument and conclusion...so you're writing about the minimum wage...here's an idea...let's begin with the assumption that everyone deserves a minimum wage. Why? This could be a way of beginning...stating that if someone puts forth an effort or some type of service, they should or at least expect to get something [money, credit, benefits, paycheck] in return. Why do you think you should get a good grade for your effort in completing your assignment. Is the goal just for completing the assignment? What if another one of your classmates puts only half the effort you put into your assignment, but you both get the same grade. Or if another classmate hands in the assignment after it is due, should they get the same grade as you, if you handed it in on time...OR even handed in early. Think of it as getting something for something you did...in the case of your assignment, a salary/wage. You can call that an incentive. You might want to state that in your introduction, wages, minimum wages are an incentive to be on time for work, do what your employer expects you to do. And if the minimum wage isn't going to give you the money to do the things you want or buy, is it worth it to you? Does the minimum wage pay your bills, lodging, food, but leave nothing for cable, movies, gas, things that make working worthwhile.
This idea you can expanded to a minimum wage providing an employee the opportunity of having something called 'expendable income'...which could enforce your argument of 'helping companies make more money'...BECAUSE...people with a minimum wage will have additional income to buy things.
Expand that just a bit more, if a minimum wage provides an incentive for a worker to look and apply of a job without a guarantee of a minimum wage, there will be a supply of workers and an incentive to be at work everyday. BUT even if a minimum wage DOES NOT give a worker an incentive to look for or apply for minimum wage jobs, let alone be a dedicated minimum wage worker, the employee will have trouble hiring and keeping workers.
Hope this helps...like I said...I'm not going to write it for you, but will give you direction and some things to put into your own words. Would like to know how this goes.
Have a great weekend.
