slove for x /2x+11/=3

Please edit the equation in the problem statement.  It is not clear, especially the meaning of the division slash after 11.

i don't know what its called but it should be a straight line i think its called proportions

I will assume the problem is
 
x/(2x + 11) = 3
 
and you want to solve for x.
 
Multiply both sides by (2x + 11) and get
 
x = 3(2x + 11) = 6x + 33
x = 6x + 33
 
Subtract x from both sides and get
 
0 = 5x + 33
 
Subtract 33 from both sides and get
 
-33 = 5x
 
Divide both sides by 5 and egt
 
x = -33/5
