On line segment AD, AC is 2/3 of AD and BD is 3/4 of AD. What fraction of AD is BC?

It is a fraction question. I'm not very sure how to solve it but i know that the answer is 5/12. Please help, thank you.

I believe you have your fraction of 4/3 for BD incorrect.
As problem is stated you have:

  B---A---*---C---D

For length BC = AD

Now that you fixed the question, you have these points, in order, along line segment AD which we shall assume has length 1.
A.....B..........C.....D
If AC = 2.3 then CD is 1/3.
Then since Bd = 3/4, BC = 3/4 - 1/3 and, using common denominator, we get BC = (9-4)/12 = 5/12.

In the comment above, the 2.3 should be 2/3, for length AC.
