asked 10/19/17On line segment AD, AC is 2/3 of AD and BD is 3/4 of AD. What fraction of AD is BC?
It is a fraction question. I'm not very sure how to solve it but i know that the answer is 5/12. Please help, thank you.

technically incorrect, in that if this is all to be on line segment AD, B would have to be elsewhere to be 4/3 of AD.
The problem should be reworded to state the relative positions of A, B, C and D on a line, along with any length relationships there are.

Now that you fixed the question, you have these points, in order, along line segment AD which we shall assume has length 1.
A.....B..........C.....D
If AC = 2.3 then CD is 1/3.
Then since Bd = 3/4, BC = 3/4 - 1/3 and, using common denominator, we get BC = (9-4)/12 = 5/12.

In the comment above, the 2.3 should be 2/3, for length AC.
